The first priority of any church is to WORSHIP GOD.   Jesus was asked, "What is the greatest commandment?"  He answered that loving God with all we are and all that we have is the basic and deepest need of our lives.  Worship is our love life with God.  In worship we express and build our intimacy with God.  Our worship services are loving responses to God's real presence.  Worship is our intimate dialogue in which we are honest in confession, adoration and need, and we hear God's words of forgiveness and new direction.  Intimacy is not always easy or even wanted.  Intimacy does, though, bring us to life.  We seek to be intimate in all parts of our worship from the call to worship to the benediction and commissioning.  We are developing and nurturing intentional worshippers.

Music is chosen because it helps us confess our faith and express our needed and appropriate responses to God. Our worship services cannot be defined by the popular adjectives of worship used today.  Most of those adjectives only describe the music used by a church.  Our view of the nature of worship is much broader than the style or age of music.  We sing music that is contemporary, yet the hymnal is also at the core of our worship.    A song may be very old.  One may be very new.  We intentionally choose the music for the various expressions and responses in our worship.

Our prayer times are important.  We seek to join God's heart and know His heart.  We know He takes our needs seriously.  If we believe we are being heard and loved, this is not a casual moment.  In our prayer time we celebrate the various rites of passage with individuals and within our congregation.  We do this on the occasion of special birthdays and other celebrations in our lives.

The Bible is central in our worship.  The Sacred Story of Holy Scripture enlightens and enlivens our lives.  Jesus is the Word that gives us life.  We do not honor a particular translation of Scripture.  We believe in the value of many of the current translations that help us hear the Word through the word.

Our younger children, birth through 4 years, remain in the nursery for extended teaching care during the entire worship service.  Our Kindergartners through 5th graders leave the worship service at the offertory to go to "The Great Adventure", their own unique encounter with God's Word that relates to their level of understanding.  Their curriculum is from various scriptures, such as the Lord's Prayer, the Beatitudes, the "I AM" statements of Jesus, etc.  The focus is to center a child's heart to God.

Come and experience our worship.  You may well understand the psalmist who said, "I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the Lord.'"
